"...and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." --1 Peter 2:5
St. John LaLande Catholic Church is a Christian community rooted in Sacred Scripture and the Traditions of our Catholic faith. We welcome all and embrace the opportunity to serve as good and grateful stewards of God's gifts.
We continually seek ways to grow and share our faith - through Mass, through community and personal prayer, in devotion to Mary, our Blessed Mother, and by living the vision and mission of our Parish. As Living Stones, we are commissioned to build up the church as well as the kingdom of God. We give ourselves in service to the Lord - through ministry within our community, through outreach to those in need, through leadership within the church and through the practice of good stewardship, the giving of our time, talent, and treasure.
Education, for children and adults, is paramount to this Parish community. As evangelists and teachers, we are called to provide spiritual and practical lessons in Christianity - through the largest ministry of the Parish, St. John LaLande Catholic School, as well as through Preschool, early Childhood Center, Confraternity of Christian Doctrine or CCD, and Sacramental preparation courses.
Empowered by the Word of God, nourished by the Eucharist, and made bold by the Holy Spirit, we strive through faith, service, and education for life to welcome God's transforming love and to deepen our relationship with God, one another, and the universal church.
